I think we’ve found the most unluckiest man in the world.
Kohei Jinno has had the misfortune of being evicted from his home and place of business now twice because of the International Olympics Committee.
The 1964 Olympic games came to Japan and forced then 30-year-old Jinno to relocate to accommodate the site which would become Olympic park. He relocated for two years until the government gave him a replacement home on the edge of what was Olympic Stadium.
Now with the games coming back Olymic Stadium is being built right where the old one was and Jinno is exactly the same predicament as before. An understandably upset Jinno stated the following, via Deadspin:
“I don’t want to see the Olympics at all,…Deep inside, I have a kind of grudge against the Olympics.”
The government offered to resettle him, but the 79-year-old is reluctant and wants to stay put.
“Probably I may go where you cannot set up a tobacco shop,…That means I will lose my reason for living.”
Heartbreaking reality that goes with any Olympic site, people and places are forced to move to accommodate the games. Rarely does it happen to the same person twice–that’s just plain cruel.
