It’s a good thing for South Carolina that Steve Spurrier has always relished the idea of having two quarterbacks ready.
Spurrier announced after the Gamecocks’ difficult 28-25 victory over Central Florida that his starting quarterback Connor Shaw will miss 2-3 weeks will a shoulder injury.
Shaw of course has had shoulder issues before after missing several games last season with a clavicle injury. Spurrier loves backup Dylan Thompson, and after replacing Shaw, he completed 15-of-32 passes for 261 yards and an interception.
The junior will of course start in place of Shaw until he’s healthy enough to return.
