I’m actually shocked a senior made this list.
Two seniors, two sophomores and a freshman will make up the Associated Press’ preseason All-America team. Oklahoma State stud point guard Marcus Smart was the only unanimous choice for AP Preseason All American.
The reigning Big 12 player and freshman of the year, Smart averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.0 steals for the Cowboys last season.
Kansas star freshman Andrew Wiggins follows former North Carolina Tar Heel Harrison Barnes as the only first year players to named preseason all american.
They were joined by Creighton’s Doug McDermott, Louisville’s Russ Smith, and Michigan forward Mitch McGary.
