The Phillies and Blue Jays both endured disappointing seasons for teams with contending aspirations. Bautista has been one of the best sluggers in baseball for a few seasons now and would upgrade the Phillies lineup significantly.
Hard to say what direction the Blue Jays intend to go to if they trade their franchise player but they need pitching and have very little in terms of assets to get it, so this may be a way to resolve that problem.
