Buffalo Bills middle linebacker Brandon Spikes made a lot of inflammatory remarks about the New England Patriots after the two decided to part ways.
Spikes talked plenty of trash and even “compared his time playing for the Patriots to slavery.” Spikes showed up for the first day of the Bills’ offseason workouts and let the world know that he was “ready to back up all his trash talk.”
“Everybody got a theme. You gotta respect that,” Spikes said, via Mike Rodak of ESPN.com. “I got a big mouth, I talk a lot of trash. I feel like I can back it up. … If I can get in a guy’s head, I’ll take advantage of it. . . .
“You’ve seen a lot of the greats do it, with Floyd [Mayweather] and [Muhammad] Ali. I’m not saying on their level, but hey they personally might use it the same way. For me, it just gives me that edge.”
Spikes brings an edge and bravado that has been lacking in Buffalo.
