Phil Jackson says changes are coming for the Knicks, but they will have to be very cheap changes because according to ESPN even if Melo decides to bolt for another team, the Knicks will be in salary cap hell for one more year.
The reason why? Well, there are three reasons.
Andrea Bargnani ($11.5 million in 2014-15), Amar’e Stoudemire ($23.4 million) and Tyson Chandler ($14.6 million).
It is likely next year the Knicks won’t be in a position to improve their roster enough to compete for a title with or without Carmelo.
