CSNBayArea.com, is reporting that the San Francisco 49ers will spend the next couple of months clearing salary cap space to give Colin Kaepernick the huge long-term deal he’s seeking before the start of training camp.
The 49ers are likely to make some cap adjustments this offseason to sign their remaining draft picks and, perhaps, quarterback Colin Kaepernick to a lucrative contract extension.
The Niners could look to restructure some of their higher contract, like Patrick Willis and his $6.535 million or running back Frank Gore who’s due to make $6.45 million.
