Earlier it was reported the USF commit Marquise Bryant had been arrested in an altercation with a police officer. In the fight, Bryant pulled a gun on the officer and has now been sentenced to 215 days in jail. Bryant took a plea deal from the prosecution where he pleaded no contest to carrying a concealed weapon and violently resisting an officer. In addition, Bryant has to complete 100 hours of community service and has 2 years of probation.
USF has not commented on whether or not they will allow Bryant to keep his scholarship officer, but this is just a sad case of someone being given a great opportunity and simply squandering it if the offer is revoked.
