Ivory Coast team members, Yaya and Kolo Toure will continue to play in the World Cup tournament, after the death of their younger brother, Ibrahim Toure on Thursday. He was only twenty-eight years old. No official cause of death has been given. however, British media has reported he’d been receiving cancer treatments.
The news of his passing came the same day as Ibrahim’s brothers’ Ivory Coast team lost to Columbia 2-1. Team spokesman Eric Kakou, said the brothers were given the option of leaving the tournament, and informed him today, that they would be remaining with the team for the duration of the tournament.
The Ivorians play Greece in their final group C game on Tuesday and with a win, would qualify for the final sixteen for the first time ever.
