The lawyer for Florida State quarterback Jameis Winton is confident that the Heisman Trophy winner won’t miss any games due to his upcoming code of student conduct hearing.
A date has yet to be set for the proceeding.
“It’s not going to have any impact on him playing,” David Cornwell told SI.com
The hearing will reportedly address Winston violating four of the universities honor code. They include two for sexual misconduct and two for endangerment in relation to an alleged sexual assault in 2012.
Cornwell conveniently said there was no urgency on the part of him or Winston to have the hearings sped up.
“What’s the sense of urgency for this unique process?” Cornwell said. “When has anyone confronted this before? We need time.”
Jameis Winston could on his way to the NFL before the hearings are ever held.
