With the Cavaliers set to play the Chicago Bulls in regular season action in less than 2 weeks, LeBron is making headlines by paying respect to what he considers a good Chicago team.
“[The Bulls] are a team that’s much better than us right now just off chemistry,” James said. “They’ve been together for awhile, we’ve got a long way to go.”
Lebron cites the fact that the Bulls have been together for much longer and that the Cavaliers team chemistry isn’t going to just appear from team dinners. Lebron knows that it will take time in order for everyone on the roster to become comfortable with each other, and that team chemistry and trust will be built throughout the season. The only thing that will help the Cavs grow will be experience. Lebron has gone through this process before when he first joined the Miami Heat in the summer of 2010.
“You’ve got to go through something to create a bond; that means for the worse,” James said. “We’ve got to lose ballgames that we think we should’ve won, we’ve got to get into an argument every now and then just to test each other out.”
The Cavaliers will play their first game of the preseason with Lebron, Kyrie, and Kevin Love, all in the starting lineup against an NBA opponent. These will be the first reps in building that team chemistry for what will be another long season for Lebron.
