IF YOU HIRE GLORIA ALLRED FOR ANYTHING, I AM GOING TO QUESTIONS YOUR MOTIVES.
I don’t know Devon Still and Leah’s mom child support situation, hopefully Still can clear that up, if he owes mom that is court appointed he needs to pay. I am willing to give someone who so obviously cares about his child the benefit of the doubt, that there is more to the story than what Channing Smythe is saying via the NY Daily News.
Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still, whose relationship with his cancer-stricken daughter has been the NFL feel-good story of the season, has not paid child support for four months, according to the sick girl’s mother.
Channing Smythe, the mother of 4-year-old Leah Still, said she has been pushed to the brink of homelessness because Still refuses to provide child support.
“I don’t consider him a deadbeat dad,” Smythe told the Daily News on Wednesday. “I know he loves and cares for his daughter and he is there for her. I just need him to help me financially.”
Civil rights attorney Gloria Allred, who represents Leah’s mother, delivered a letter to the NFL on Tuesday asking the league to investigate if Still has violated its Personal Conduct Policy by failing to pay child support for the girl, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer in June.
You don’t hire Gloria Allred for this, you don’t use your daughter who has cancer as a pawn for a circus, that honestly makes me sick to my stomach, there are ways to handle this without leaking all this to the media.
Is Ms. Smythe jealous of all attention Devon Still is getting? Are you upset he is engaged to another woman now? Is she upset that she is pregnant by another man who isn’t in her life?
I simply don’t understand why when your daughter has given hope to so many people you would do such a thing. Where are the legal documents that says Devon Still hasn’t paid? Why are you writing the NFL and not family court? Something seems off about this and I don’t like the road it is heading down.

“My daughter’s battle with cancer has been inspirational to many all over the world. When she gets older, I want her to be able to look back and read about her positive impact on the world, not about the private issues her parents were going through. I am not going to retaliate against the mother of my daughter, and the untruthful reports in the New York Daily News article, by criticizing her character. I am going to continue to allow the court system to handle this matter, as it has been doing these past couple of months.”
