With injuries to the top two UFC bantamweight contenders, Dominick Cruz and Raphael Assuncao, champion TJ Dillashaw is now faced with a tough decision. Does he give a rematch to the extremely dangerous Renan Barao or does he fight his BFF Urijah Faber?
Team Alpha Male manager Mike Roberts talked about the possibility of Dillashaw facing Faber:
“They’re brothers,” Roberts said. “I’ll never say never, but I would find that to be highly unlikely.”
In regards to Dillashaw’s future Roberts and this to say:
“We would assume we’re probably fighting Barao, but ultimately the UFC is going to call and ask for something.”
Barao isn’t in the proverbial “dog house” of UFC President Dana White after missing weight in the scheduled title rematch in August. White sent Barao home without pay from that event and shelved the champ 4 months. Barao returned last week to defeat Mitch Gagnon by submission and put himself back into the title mix.
