NBA All-Star Weekend has reached a fever pitch in New York City. Posters hang from the streetlights and more musical acts continue to be announced in the week prior to the festivities, and ticket prices remain high on the secondary market. Held between February 13 and 15 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, All-Star Weekend will bring the league’s best players together for three nights of entertainment in the heart of the city.
Things will tip off next Friday with the All-Star Celebrity Game at Madison Square Garden. Among the A-list group of players include actors Kevin Hart, Michael Rapaport, Anthony Anderson and Little League pitching sensation Mo’ne Davis. The average price for All-Star Celebrity Game tickets on TiqIQ is currently $197.17. Fans searching for the cheapest seat will find a $65 get-in price.
20 miles southeast in Brooklyn, Barclays Center will host the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday. Rising Stars Challenge tickets average $179.14 on the secondary market and the get-in price is $80. Taking on the new USA vs World format, the NBA’s best domestic and international players in their rookie and sophomore seasons will compete in an exhibition game. Trey Burke and Nerlens Noel highlight the U.S. team while Andrew Wiggins and Giannis Antetokounmpo dress for the World team.
All-Star Saturday night at Barclays will feature a slew of competitions, including the 3-Point Shootout and always anticipated Slam Dunk Contest. The Splash Brothers in Steph Curry and Klay Thompson will battle in the 3-Point Shootout while Zach LaVine and hometown favorite Mason Plumlee fly high in the Slam Dunk Contest. The average secondary price for All-Star Saturday Night tickets is $1,860.70 and the cheapest seat listed is $443.
Perhaps the most anticipated event will be the All-Star Game itself on Sunday, February 15 at Madison Square Garden. Carmelo Anthony will lead the East on his home court against the West’s Steph Curry and Blake Griffin. Tickets to this year’s All-Star Game on TiqIQ now average $1,835.75, up 79.9% from last season’s average of $1,019.89. Fans won’t get in for much less, either, as the game’s cheapest seat is $771. Sunday’s game will be the first All-Star Game held in The World’s Most Famous Arena since 1998.
In addition to the events held between the Barclays Center and MSG, some of the world’s biggest artists and comedians will take center stage in Manhattan in the days leading up to the All-Star Game. Puff Daddy and Snoop Dogg headline The Tip-Off at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden on February 12, where Tip-Off tickets average $129.71 on the secondary market. Former NBA great Shaquille O’Neal brings his Comedy Jam to the Beacon Theatre for two shows on February 13, where Comedy Jam tickets own a $283.85 secondary average.
There will be plenty to do when hitting the Big Apple for the All-Star festivities. Whether catching Snoop at The Theatre or watching LeBron at The Garden on Sunday, All-Star Weekend will be bigger than ever when it hits New York City next week.
