Those who were waiting for the Kaminsky/Harrison saga to continue will have need to get their drama fix elsewhere.
Wisconsin’s star big man, Frank Kaminsky took the opportunity to address Kentucky guard Andrew Harrison being caught saying “fuck that nigga” in a hot mic at the team’s post-game presser:
“He reached out to me. We talked about it. Over it,” Kaminsky said. “Nothing needs to be made out of it. It’s not that big a deal to me,” Kaminsky added at a smaller press conference, in a breakout room at Lucas Oil Stadium. “The situation is completely defused in my eyes.”
And just like that, the situation is dead. Big-ups to Kaminsky for showing maturity and poise when he could’ve taken that opportunity to kick Harrison and his Wildcat teammates after defeating them ON the court, where it mattered.
Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan added his input on the matter at the press conference as well:
“Yeah, in this day and age, it always reminds all of us. It reminds us that whatever we say can and will be heard, it seems. So, yeah, the teaching moment is the individual himself learned from it obviously by reaching out to Frank. So we’ll leave it at that.”
Kentucky announced Harrison wouldn’t be punished for his comment. So, can we all move on now?
