Caitlin Clark Is “Dejected” Because Her Boyfriend Isn’t There for Her Debut : “No He’s Working, I’m Playing Solo”

In her preseason pro debut with the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark showed that she was worthy of all the excitement. In front of a sold-out crowd, the 22-year-old scored a team-high 21 points in the Fever’s 79-76 loss to the Dallas Wings. In addition, she scored 16 points in the first sixteen minutes of the game, leading the way. She finished with 21 points in the final 28 minutes of play.

All of Clark’s loved ones were in the arena to watch her make her debut, but her beau was noticeably missing from the festivities. At her first WNBA game, Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, was noticed to be absent from the crowd.

The NCAA top scorer laughed with the reporters when they questioned her about her boyfriend’s whereabouts. She said,

“No, he’s working…I’m playing solo. I better get used to it, man. I’m gonna be a pro; it’s my job.”

McCaffery has always encouraged Clark in all of her pursuits and has been one of her biggest fans on social media and throughout her games. However, it’s possible that Clark’s beau was not present when his girlfriend made her incredible WNBA professional debut, breaking ankles and draining threes.
