Former Oklahoma running back Keith Ford recently decided to transfer and it looks like he has settled on a destination and will take his talents to College Station, Texas and become an Aggie.
Former Oklahoma running back Keith Ford has informed GigEm247 of his intention to transfer to Texas A&M after his unofficial visit to College Station this afternoon.
The Houston Cypress Ranch product will have to sit out a year but has a redshirt still available. Ford will have two years of eligibility left after he serves his mandatory NCAA year of ineligibility.
The 5-foot-11, 202-pound runner started three games as a sophomore this past season. He played in eight contests total before a small fracture in his lower leg sidelined him for the season. He had been suspended this spring for an unspecified “violation of team rules.”
He follows Aggie senior Brandon Williams as former five-star runners to transfer from Oklahoma to A&M.
It was pretty much a lock that Ford when be playing out the rest of his collegiate career somewhere in the Lone Star State,and after visiting College Station today he liked what he heard and saw from head Coach Kevin Sumlin.
Since Ford is transferring from another Division I program he will be forced to sit out a year and won’t be eligible until 2016.
