John Wall may return sooner than you think.
Despite not having dribbled a basketball with his left hand since injuring it last Sunday, Wall is currently listed as a game time decision for Game 4 against the Atlanta Hawks.
For those who need a reminder: Wall was playing with what he originally believed to be a bad sprain. As it turns out, he had 5 displaced micro-fractures in his hand and wrist. Whoops!
With the swelling and pain, he hasn’t been able to participate in any basketball activities for his off-hand. Regardless, Wall has remained adamant against ruling out a return, stating all along that it would come down to how he feels.
The Wizards were able to buy some time thanks in large part to Paul Pierce’s Game 3 heroics, but they desperately need J-Wall as a leader and distributor on the court.
A return to action in Game 4 would be highly surprising; but I wouldn’t rule out a return all together.
Nobody wants to be riding the bench watching their team compete in the Playoffs.
