No one really know how serious Pacquiao’s shoulder injury is. No one has ever seen a MRI and the doctor never explained how bad it was, just said the surgery was successful.
If you believe British promoter Eddie Hearn, Top Rank has told him that Pacquiao could be ready by the end of the year to face undefeated Kell Brook.
Hearn is lining up Brook, 29, to fight, a former Pacquiao opponent, American Brandon Rios in Sheffield.
With American Mayweather, 38, now ruling out a rematch and Pacquiao, 36, who recently underwent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, Hearn believes the fight is possible for November or December.
“We’ve had talks with Top Rank about Brandon Rios and spoke very briefly about Manny Pacquiao but it’s early days,” Hearn said.
“My dad has spoken to Bob Arum about it this week and I really think it can happen in November or December once Pacquiao is fit.
It appears to me Top Rank knows more about Pacquiao’s shoulder injury than they are letting on. If it was as bad as they said, there is no way Pacquiao would be ready by December.
We will never know the truth, but it is likely Pacquiao won’t fight the rest of this year, just to keep up appearances that he was severely injured.
