NFL players probably make the least amount of money, when it comes to the big four professional sports leagues. Not everyone is making Peyton Manning or Adrian Peterson money.
Some guys truly have to budget — or in the case of Dolphins defensive lineman A.J. Francis — get a second job.
A member of the Dolphins practice squad for the past three seasons, the 6’5″, 330-pound Francis is a Uber driver on the side.
Even though he’s set to earn $510,000 in 2015, Francis won’t receive his first paycheck until July when camp starts. For now, he’s been shuttling passengers around for between $40 and $50 an hour.
Definitely not bad.
“I’m not putting all my eggs in one basket,” Francis said Monday, per Steven Wine of the Associated Press. “Where I’m from, when you have a job, where are you when that job is over?”
