James Cameron put his name on the map with movies like Terminator and Terminator 2. Cameron did not write or direct the new Terminator: Genisys film, but has gone on record on his thoughts of the film.
Via USA Today,
“If you watch a film where you’re going on a journey, you’re following the story, and you care about the characters, then you can put the pedal to the metal and the action can be relentless. It gives you that kind of body experience where it’s exhilarating, where you’re actually getting an adrenaline rush. That’s what I fought for in the first two films and I think this film delivers in exactly the same way.”- James Cameron
Cameron sure gave his stamp of approval to the new film but he took it a step further.
“In the new film which in my mind I think of as the third film, we see Arnold take the character even farther.”- James Cameron
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines starring Nick Stahl and Claire Danes with Kristinna Loken as a female Terminator, is officially the third film in the series but that movie was far from good. In fact, I would rank it the worst in the series with Terminator: Salvation starring Christian Bale not far behind. Both films couldn’t live up to the original two written and directed by Cameron, so it’s pretty cool that he is willing to put his stamp of approval on Terminator: Genisys and it’s a film that looks to be way more entertaining than any Terminator film since T2. Why they give away the big John Connor reveal is a mystery as it seems like it would have been a pretty cool twist at some point.
