Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Damond Powell Jr. suffered a gun shot wound on Friday night. According to the Associated Press, Powell was home in the drive way of his Ohio home when a drive by shooting occurred leaving him wounded.
The Associated Press wrote, “Police have said his injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening. Police also say witnesses reported seeing three men wearing masks in a gold-colored vehicle.
Powell played his college football at Iowa and was one of 14 undrafted players the Cardinals signed back in May. During his two season at Iowa, Powell was a play making machine averaging 19.6 yards per catch and was expected to complete for a roster spot with the Cards.
We wish Powell a speedy recovery and hope he can get back on the field soon.
