The Canelo Alvarez – Miguel Cotto fight is nearly finalized, which means Oscar De La Hoya can begin leaking details of the fight for personal recognition.
De La Hoya recently told BoxingScene that there’s only one place that this fight will take place:
“This fight will definitely be inVegas,” said De La Hoya.
“The MGM is a casino that has the stadium built in and they’ve staged the biggest fights in the history of the sport. So it’s a perfect venue to stage this type of fight.”
There’s also been reports of De La Hoya confirming November 21st as the date for the fight.
The much-anticipated bout between World Boxing Council middleweight Champion Miguel Cotto and Saúl ´Canelo´ Álvarez will be on November 21st, according to the former champion and distinguished promoter Oscar De La Hoya.
It’s refreshing to see a young champion take on the best in the world without fear of losing or regard for his future legacy. Canelo has a tough test ahead of him with the rejuvenated Cotto but a win would set him up for the title of #2 P4P fighter in the world.
