A man came in to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office late Monday to complain that detectives had stolen his patch of marijuana plants, deputies said.
Boyd Gene Wiley, 47, was promptly arrested on a charge of producing marijuana, which is a felony.
Deputies said last Friday, a Putnam County Codes Enforcement Officer conducted a code compliance inspection at property on Lake Susan Road in the west end of Putnam County.
The officer spotted marijuana plants growing on the property and notified the Sheriff’s Office, which sent drug and vice unit detectives to investigate. The detectives spent several hours eradicating 91 marijuana plants.
