Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few hours, you heard about the Washington Redskins announcing Kirk Cousins as their starting quarterback week one against the Miami Dolphins.
This decision comes as a surprise because we were under the belief that Robert Griffin III would get one last shot under Jay Gruden. However, it looks like the former Heisman winner has played his last snap in DC.
Former Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan is fully behind the move.
“Kirk Cousins is a franchise quarterback, he will be a top 10 quarterback in this league no doubt about it.”
Shanahan was part of the braintrust that selected Cousins in the fourth round of the 2012 draft.
