Ziggler and Rusev Battle to a… Draw
Ziggler and Lana come out and Lana is all jeaned out like Ziggler and sure why not.
Let’s just hope this is the final chapter of this feud because these guys need to move on.
Rusev makes his way out with the Bulgarian flag and it’s amazing how quickly WWE made everyone forget about Rusev and Russia. He’s also wearing boots and I may have missed it before but that’s the first time I’ve seen Rusev anything but barefoot.
Ziggler takes control early with a standing dropkick and he starts wailing away on Rusev in the corner but the Bulgarian just tosses him off the turnbuckle. Dolph tries to hit a splash in the corner but Rusev avoids it and Ziggler crashes face-first.
Rusev stomps away on Ziggler and takes control as we get a shot of the two blondes ringside. Rusev locks in a bear hug on Ziggler and begins to wear down the Show-Off.
Ziggler fights out and hits a standing dropkick. He tries to splash Rusev but the Bulgarian catches him and he hits a vicious inverted slam for the near-fall.
The crowd chants “USA!” which apparently still makes Rusev mad as Ziggler tries to make a comeback by turning a press slam into an awesome DDT.
Ziggler in control now as he splashes Rusev in the corner and hits a neckbreaker before hitting a standing elbow drop for the… one count.
Ziggler tries to attack Rusev but the Bulgarian Brute hits a running, spinning heel kick off the ropes for the near-fall!
Rusev is now climbing up top and Ziggler grabs him and hits a face-buster off the ropes but only gets the near-fall!
Ziggler goes for a superkick but Rusev blocks and hits an awesome suplex before following it up with a running senton that would make Kevin Owens jealous for the near-fall!
Rusev hts the corner and calls for his flying kick but Ziggler reverses and gets a near-fall on a roll-up. Rusev again tries a kick but Ziggler dodges and locks in a sleeper hold on the Bulgarian Brute but Rusev gets to the rope for a break. Fortunately for no reason at all he lets go off the ropes before Ziggler breaks and then runs backwards into the corner to break the hold.
Rusev goes for a splash in the corner and misses and Ziggler follows it up by hitting a Fame-Asser for the near-fall!
Ziggler goes for a Zig Zag but Rusev catches and tosses him in the air and off the mat before hitting a running kick to Ziggler’s face and locking in the Accolade. Lana gets in front of Ziggler and tries to cheer him on, so Summer Rae comes over to hit her, but Lana slaps her and Rusev is so mad he breaks the hold.
Lana chants break out from the crowd and Rusev is starting to lose it. He grabs Ziggler ringside and shows his carcass to Lana, so Summer Rae runs in from behind and hits her from behind! Ziggler pops up and hits Rusev with a super kick onto the announce table!
Ziggler tries to crawl back into the ring, but the ref counts to 10 literally a quarter of a second before Ziggler can get back in and the bout is called a double count-out.
Angry Ziggler tries to attack Rusev but that doesn’t work out so well as the Bulgarian Brute hits him and throws him in the ring. Ziggler explodes out of nowhere and takes Rusev down and starts throwing punches. Summer jumps on Ziggler and hits him from behind but Lana takes her out and the men have to separate the ladies.
So yeah, this is going to end up being a mixed tag match.
Sweet.
