Can you imagine the panic and chaos that must have ensued? I mean, just the thought of your own home going up in flames is enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine. And to think it was all caused by a seemingly innocent car charger? It’s like something out of a movie, except this was all too real for the Cobbs.
Aiyda Cobb, Randall Cobb’s wife, posted on her Instagram story that the family was “lucky to be alive” after a fire started in their home. Aiyda stated that the charger for their Tesla caught fire “and quickly spread” across the house.
Aiyda and Randall Cobb got married in 2017 and have three sons.
Thankfully, the Cobbs managed to leave their house just in time to avoid a devastating tragedy. Hopefully, they’re doing okay and will be comfortable with their temporary living situation until they find a new permanent home.
The soon-to-be 34-year-old Cobb remains a free agent after spending last year with the New York Jets. GM Joe Douglas acquired Aaron Rodgers via trade with Packers and made his QB happy by bringing in several of his former Green Bay teammates.
But with Rodgers missing practically the entire 2023 season after suffering a torn Achilles, Randall Cobb struggled to find his game with the Jets. In 11 games, Cobb caught five passes for 39 yards and one touchdown.
Cobb played for the Packers from 2011 to 2018, helping them to two NFC Championship Game appearances (2014 and 2016). He had one-year stints with the Dallas Cowboys (2019) and Houston Texans (2020) before returning to Green Bay via trade in 2021.
In the end, the Cobbs are left with a valuable lesson in the unpredictability of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. It’s a reminder to us all that things can be replaced, but loved ones cannot.
