Sheamus Squashes the Viper
Our first match of the night is the Viper against Mr. Money in the Bank and could this be foreshadowing? The last time Orton faced a Mr. Money in the Bank to kick off a four-hour show, Seth Rollins was cashing in on the title when we went off the air. Could this be some déjà vu?
The match kicks off and the crowd is chanting “YOU LOOK STUPID!” at Sheamus because well he does. So Sheamus grabs a mic and jumps on the announcers table and says he doesn’t look stupid we all do instead. He says we will respect the ‘hawk (so now his Mohawk has a nickname) before Orton pulls him off the table and takes control.
Sheamus eventually takes control and hits a flying knee on Orton off the tope rope (no seriously) before wearing the Viper down. The Celtic Warrior hits two back-breakers and asks the crowd if they’re entertained before fixing his ‘hawk and putting the Viper in a chin lock.
This is pretty much the same match we’ve seen 40 times from these two and the vocal crowd makes that known by breaking into an “OLE!” chant which is basically code for we’re bored.
Orton takes control by grabbing Sheamus and hitting an exploder suplex over the top rope and to the outside. Orton climbs the ropes and messes up Sheamus’ hawk and the Celtic Warrior snaps and hits a supex for a near-fall and now Orton is busted open and I’m not exactly sure where that came from.
Sheamus locks in the Clover Leaf and Orton is somehow able to get to the rope to break the hold. Sheamus tries to take control but Orton reverses into a power slam for the near-fall.
Sheamus tries to pull himself up the turnbuckles but Orton catches him and hits a hanging DDT off the top turnbuckle!
Now the Viper is calling for the RKO but Sheamus tries to roll out of the ring. He shoulders Orton in the midsection before turning him around and beating on his chest.
Sheamus tres to lunge himself over the ropes for a shoulder block and Orton catches him with an RKO OUT OF NOWHERE!
But Sheamus somehow rolls himself out of the ring to avoid being covered.
Orton rolls Sheamus back into the ring and sets up for a punt in the corner! The Viper runs at Sheamus but misses and the Celtic Warrior hits White Noise for a near-fall!
Sheamus stumbles to his feet as the crowd chants about how stupid he looks and calls for the Brogue Kick. Orton dodges it and goes for the RKO but Sheamus hits him with a Brogue Kick into the corner and then another for the 1-2-3!
And with that, this four month feud might finally be over.
