Amell Impresses as the Arrows Win the Battle of Heroes
Pretty cool comic book intro to tell the story of this one before our wrestlers make their way out. Barrett is out first and apparently he’s actually going by Cosmic King nowsince he has his spiky shoulder pads on. Stardust comes out in a robe and man he’s starting to get so weird it’s kind of creepy.
Out comes the Red Arrow Neville and he finally makes his way into the ring after dealing with a minor cape malfunction before the Green Arrow makes his way out and this is either going to be pretty cool or pretty disastrous.
We start off with Barrett and Neville and the high-flyer is just showing off right now with some incredible athleticism including multiple backflips and cartwheels. Barrett tags Stardust in and the weird one says he doesn’t want Neville he wants Green Arrow and Amell enters the ring pretty impressively.
Stardust pushes him down but Amell pops up and hits a stiff running boot straight into Stardust’s chest. Crowd breaks into “CODY” chants and Barrett hilariously covers his ears. Stardust goes for a suplex but Amell lands on his feet and hits a nice hip toss before shooting Stardust with an imaginary arrow.
Amell has been impressive but now he has to deal with Barrett after Stardust tags out and the King has Hollywood in the corner but Amell tries to fight out of it and eats a (awkwardly-timed) boot for his troubles.
Barrett tags Stardust in and now he’s stomping Green Arrow in the corner. The King and Stardust continue to trade tags nd beat Amell down as Barrett hits him with a big boot out of the ring.
Stardust back in and he plants Amell on his face for the near-fall. He tries to kick Stardust but gets caught and somehow the Green Arrow hits an impressive enziguiri!
Amell makes the hot tag to Neville and the Red Arrow is laying everyone to waste, hitting an awesome kicking combo on Barrett including an enziguiri of his own, followed by an unbelievable invered 360 flip off the second rope for a near-fall!
He tosses Stardust and Barrett out of the ring and Amell climbs the turnbuckle to hit both opponents with a flying splash to the outside!
He rolls Barrett back into the ring and Neville hits a Red Arrow for the 1-2-3!
Pretty good showing from Amell, who might be an actor but he’s also incredibly athletic and did a good job of showing it off. The match served its purpose and Amell didn’t look like a total stiff in it. Good stuff.
