Either Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys organization are extremely optimistic or they know something we don’t. Dez Bryant had surgery last week after breaking the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot. Bryant had a screw inserted in his foot to repair the broken bone. Bryant’s exact injury was never confirmed but was linked to being a Jones Fracture, and injury that kept Falcons’ Julio Jones out for several months.
Julio Jones: I'm not a doctor. I don't know how Dez Bryant will bounce back, but I was on bed rest with no weight-bearing for two months.

Dez Bryant, only a week removed from surgery was seen in the locker room today without a cast or walking boot.

This seem to be two extremely different timetables. To add more, Owner and GM Jerry Jones thinks Dez could be back in just a few weeks.
“Dez will be able to start conditioning as early as [two or three] weeks into rehab. No one knows for sure about the timetable beyond that.”
The Cowboys started the season 2-0 giving them a little breathing room in the weak NFC East. The team will surely welcome Dez back as soon as he can returning seeing that they are also without quarterback Tony Romo for at least eight weeks.
