The New England Patriots will raise their Super Bowl banner in front of a raucous crowd that will have a playoff like atmosphere.
The Patriots and Mass. police are taking measures to ensure safety and good behavior amid some pent-up frustration being released over deflategate.
TMZ reports that the Pats will beef up stadium security for tonight’s NFL season kickoff.
But seriously, the Massachusetts State Police Office of Media Relations tells TMZ Sports … there WILL be an increase in personnel — explaining, “With everything that’s gone on in the off-season, we anticipate the fans will be more enthusiastic, more pumped up than usual … a little feistier.”
We’re told the cops will employ the “playoff package” — which is essentially an additional level of security.
“We anticipate a playoff like atmosphere,” we’re told … “This generally wouldn’t be done for season opener.”
