Unlike other powerhouse programs, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish aren’t in a conference. However, there’s been rumors about the Irish potentially joining a conference over the years, but nothing has come to fruition at this point.
With the NCAA having a four team playoff system, coaches across the country have spoke up about Notre Dame.

Swinney is the head coach of the Clemson Tigers, who just so happen to play Notre Dame on October 3.
