Mayweather’s purse is guaranteed.
So, it doesn’t matter if 1 person shows up or 20k, he is going to get paid the same. The reason he makes so much extra a lot of the time is because he gets paid beyond the guarantee if he hits certain thresholds.
It is pretty obvious Mayweather took the fight with Berto knowing he wasn’t going to make much above his guarantee, but that is probably not a big deal to him since he made over $200 million fighting Pacquiao.
I can honestly say the Berto fight will probably have more action than the Pacquiao fight, so this is a good time to buy your ticket if you ever wanted to see a Mayweather fight live.
According to ESPN, there are about 2100 tickets still available at face value ($125 to $1,500). Quick check on STUBHUB shows you can get in the building for $243 and ringside as low as $2000.
Prices will only get lower at this point and it is possible if you are lucky you might get some comp tickets from the hotel you are staying at if it is an MGM property.
