For those who love the sport of basketball but the NBA isn’t your cup of tea, college basketball is back this weekend to fulfill the need of hearing fight songs, seeing cheerleaders and mascots and trying to rationalize why your favorite team can make a deep run in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
A lot of growing happens between Game 1 and the conference tournaments for every basketball teams, but following along for the journey is a rewarding trip for college sports fans. With the opening weekend a few days away, we dive into the secondary ticket market to see which teams have the highest-priced games from the opening tip.

Two tune-up games for the defending National Champion Duke Blue Devils lead the list for the most expensive college basketball tickets on the secondary market during the opener weekend. The Blue Devils host the Bryant Bulldogs with an average ticket price of $138.14 and a get-in price of $88 and the Siena Saints one day earlier with a similar average ticket price but a higher get-in price of $94. Duke is ranked within in the top five of both the preseason AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches poll.
The Wichita State Shockers will have to rely on their veterans, Rob Baker and Fred VanVleet, in addition to some incoming transfers with the departure of two major senior players. They’re still ranked within the top-12 in both polls and shouldn’t have an issue in the Missouri Valley Conference during the season.
The least expensive get-in prices are for the Wolfpack’s home opener against the William and Mary Tribe and the Aggies home opener against South Carolina Upstate.
