The Beard took the high road — literally when responding to Klay Thompson’s claims that he, not Harden, is the NBA’s best shooting guard.
Thompson told Diamond Leung he believed he was the best 2-guard the NBA, while naming the best players at each position.
“I’m going to go with myself,” Thompson said. “We’re 26-1.”
That’s Klay being extremely confident and naive, but we’ll let him have it. Harden has no time for the back and forth.
“People are going to talk,” Harden said. “Just let them talk and do whatever they’re going to do. Whatever gets them excited and whatever gives them that confidence to want to talk, just go ahead and do it. But we really know what’s going on.”
statistically speaking — the numbers aren’t even close in some areas — Harden is tops among shooting guards with a 28.4 points-per-game scoring average, while Thompson is sixth with 19.6 points per game.
Klay gets those numbers playing with the leagues top scorer, so that’s saying something — along with his ability to be a lockdown defender.
