It is a trilogy that no one was really itching for, but the one that will net Pacquiao the most money with the least risk.
Amir Khan isn’t getting the fight because of his association with Al Haymon and the fact he isn’t signed with Top Rank.
Bud Crawford isn’t getting the fight because he doesn’t have crossover PPV appeal yet and is too dangerous of an opponent.
That leaves us with Tim Bradley, who Pacquiao essentially beat pretty handily twice (even though the judges scored the first fight for Bradley).
There is a some intrigued if they fight indeed gets signed (Bradley’s wife who is also his manager says they are discussing the deal now) because of Bradley’s new trainer Teddy Atlas.
The question begs did Bradley look better than he has in a few years because of Atlas or because Brandon Rios had already mentally quit on boxing before the fight?
Probably a little bit of both, but whatever the case, Bradley looks likely to have a third chance to finally get his clear win over Pacquiao.
