It’s tough to imagine that a film of this nature would do poorly but perhaps it’s all about timing.
The story of the film Concussion tells the untold story behind football players and their struggles with concussions. From the looks of it, it seems like a great story worth telling, given the circumstances this day in age. But, like ESPN business reporter Darren Rovell said, I too am baffled as to why this film would release this weekend.
"Concussion" came in 6th this weekend at the US box office with $11M. Baffled by decision to put it out this weekend.

If you look at what people have been saying on social media, many haven’t been able to get past Will Smith’s accent, in which he depicts Dr. Bennet Omalu. It’s clear that Star Wars will continue to dominate the box offices for a few more weeks. Perhaps it was best to maybe put this movie out during the NFL Draft or even next month.
