During the Wild Card matchup between the Steelers and Bengals quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a shoulder injury by Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict when he tackled him into the ground. Roethlisberger came out the game and was relieved by backup Landry Jones. Jones threw a late interception in the 4th quarter and Roethlisberger eventually lead the Steelers to a game winning drive.
This week he revealed that he has sprained his AC joint and torn ligaments. He’s been limited during practice these last couple days on the Steelers injury report. One of the Broncos thinks Roethlisberger injury isn’t as bad as he making it seem.
“Ben, he kind of looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi. He tried to pull the Jedi mind trick on everybody,” Denver defensive end Antonio Smith told USA Today. “‘Oh yeah, I’m really hurt. I might not play.’ And then he comes in the game and tries to ball.”
The Broncos seem to still prepare for Roethlisberger as he is fully healthy and not backup Landry Jones. The final injury report and status on Roethlisberger is to come out Friday afternoon. Roethlisberger isn’t usually good when he plays injured but he will have to be as he goes up against a very good Denver Broncos defense.
