DeMarcus Cousins’ talent has never been questioned, he has been putting some crazy numbers to start 2016. He just came off back to back 48-pt and 56-pt performances. He is arguably the best big man in the NBA but his attitude often brings up trade speculation, he had a tough time getting on the same page with his coach George karl even though it seems to get better but don’t count on it to be a trigger for a trade.
The Kings make sure to let know everybody around the league that their center is “untouchable”. The Kings are at an interesting stage of their franchise, they are moving to a new arena next season, they need all the star power they can get right now and at the moment nothing say star better than DeMarcus Cousins. General Manager doesn’t even entertain trade talks about Cousins because he sees his value on and off the court.
“He’s the No. 1 big guy in the league,” Divac said, according to CBSSports.com’s Ken Berger. “The second one is not even close.”
The Kings are willing to put up with Cousins’ mood based on his performances on the court, they can only hope that he matures into a model player but we have been saying the same things the past few seasons. They are going all in with him and the franchise will go as long as he goes and based on how he started the new year, it’s a good thing.
