After buying tickets to Kobe’s last scheduled home game in April, Jesse Sandler had the rug pulled out from under him. According to Sandler, he purchased 4 tickets for $900, received confirmation from StubHub, and then received a second e-mail:
As you could probably guess, Sandler did everything he could to get his tickets back. After the powers that be finally got back to him and offered StubHub coupons, which wouldn’t even cover one ticket at the current price, the truth came out about how this can happen:
“He said that typically StubHub charges the seller 20% of the original sale price of the tickets for not fulfilling an order, and that the seller “could” be banned from selling on their site for A “number of months.” in other words, StubHub’s official policy incentivizes sellers to renege when prices go up more than 20%.”
It looks like the bad press spread like wildfire and StubHub will be attempting to right the wrong:
We shot an air ball on this one. Rest assured we'll take care of Jesse & get him to the game. @theleadsports pic.twitter.com/ZGOacVJT38

They better do more than get him into the game. For all the people that didn’t have the wit to call on the internet to help, there is nothing. Once forced into a corner they did the right thing.
