Rob Gronkowski has been making some scandalous headlines of late. First he was called out by some for his aggressive grinding on a female reporter, and most recently his NSFW party cruise did not exactly paint the most wholesome image.
Well, the executives at Nickelodeon don’t seem to mind because Gronk has been chosen to host a new kids show called Crashletes.
Here are the details:
“Crashletes will feature guest personalities from the worlds of sports and entertainment, along with “the funniest, craziest viral sports clips and user-generated content from around the world,” per the Nick announcement at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. As host, Gronkowski will offer funny commentary on the clips, alongside his co-hosts and guest stars.”
And here is a quote from a Viacom executive on Gronk:
“With Gronk’s fun, big personality and Jagger’s relatable, youthful insight, Crashletesand Mega Life will resonate with sports fans and kids alike,”
Perhaps it’s Rob Gronkowski’s fun loving lack of self-awareness that allows him to escape the same type of criticisms other athletes get, especially when it comes to being a role model for kids. Or perhaps there are deeper issues at hand in terms of the way certain athletes are perceived.
