Well folks, we finally know who’s headling UFC 200 and it’s not who you were hoping for it to be.
The unification match between Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier for the Light heavyweight title will now take place of the slated rematch between Conor McGregor Vs. Nick Diaz. What makes this even more intriguing is White’s unwillingness to allow McGregor to dictate the pace. Here’s what White had to say about McGregor and his decision during a press conference in New York:
I didn’t prevent him from fighting at UFC 200. He knew what the deal was. I told him what the deal was. He opted to do that.
I absolutely respect White’s decision to pull McGregor off the card. It may be an unpopular choice, but it’s the only way to show these fighters that there’s only one sheriff in town and that’s Dana White.
