The final game of Kobe Bryant is now complete and in the aftermath the sporting world as a whole looks to return to normalcy and resume daily operations. So significant was the focus placed on the final NBA game of the future hall-of-fame inductee that even the NFL stopped business until Thursday.
Paying honor to the ‘Black Mamba’ in their own way the Los Angeles Rams, the city’s newest sports franchise, delayed making a major trade announcement so not to distract from Bryant’s final day as a professional.
“Kobe deserved his night,” the Rams official said to Adam Schefter of ESPN. “There was no reason for this trade to be announced on his night.”
According to ESPN, the Rams and Titans announced a major trade involving the first pick of the 2016 draft on Thursday morning, but they actually agreed to it on Wednesday. A major move for the team leading into the upcoming announcement of the 2016 schedule.
Maybe the Mamba will return the favor and pick up season tickets.
