A properly executed knockout is a thing of beauty, especially if you are a boxing fan.
The controlled violence of the strike while the opponent absorbs the blow and floats in slow-mo fashion to the canvas like a freshly cut tree is poetry in motion.
On Friday night lightweight Mason Menard delivered a ‘KO of the Year’ caliber finish during his third round victory over Eudy Bernardo. Adeptly cutting off the ring, Menard trapped Bernardo in the corner to move in for the kill. Bernardo attempted to keep him at bay with a lazy left jab but Mason eluded it easily and countered with a vicious over-hand right that turned his opponent’s lights out faster than you can say goodnight.
With the win Menard hands Bernardo his first loss and successfully makes the yearly highlight reel.
