The NBA Draft is only a few days away and trade rumors are starting to pick up steam.
It’s presumed that Ben Simmons will be the #1 pick and go to Philly and that the Lakers will take Brandon Ingram as the 2nd pick. Well, now rumors are swirling that the Lakers might want to do more than that.
ESPN’s Chad Ford says the Lakers may pass on Ingram or they might trade…….D’Angelo Russell for another top 5 pick.
The Lakers are in pure rebuilding mode. With the departure of Kobe Bryant and their “coach” Byron Scott, they can now steer into the next 5-6 years. They have Luke Walton along with a young squad which includes Randle, Clarkson (when they re-sign him) and Russell.
The Lakers drafted Russell at #2, so they think highly of him but Snapchat-Gate burned bridges in the locker room. Honestly, the Lakers shouldn’t worry about that too much and if it’s STILL an issue now, then the Lakers should get rid of Swaggy P.
D’Angelo Russell averaged 13 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists his rookie year. Considering the struggles he had with Byron Scott and Kobe having his farewell tour and him being a rookie, he did all right.
The Lakers potentially shopping Russell is interesting because they have a lot of options but what happens if the Sixers end up drafting Ingram first?
