Training camp is under way in the NFL but the Pittsburgh Steelers will be without one of their better receivers. Martavis Bryant has been suspended for the entire 2016 season for violating the NFL’s drug policy. Although he will be away from the team Bryant has found another gig to keep him occupied.
Bryant will spend the year in Henderson, Nevada training and volunteering with a high school football team according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. He will help coach the receivers, and also serve at a local hospital at least once a week. He is also training five days a week.
This is the same reason that caused Bryant to miss the first four games 2015 season. Although the Steelers have multiple weapons on the offensive side of the ball having Bryant out there would definitely help the Steelers as they are legit contenders to make a run at the Super Bowl.
You hate to see such a great young talent taken away from the game, but hopefully this will serve as a lesson learned for Martavis so that he won’t jeopardize his playing career in the future.
