The popular “Oceans” movie franchise is set to return to the big screen with Rihanna and Anne Hathaway in talks to join the cast.
According to Variety.com, the latest installment entitled “Oceans Eleven” will switch up the previous formula by using an-female cast. Currently Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, and Mindy Kaling, have agreed to participate with Gary Ross of “The Hunger Games” fame leading the helm as director.
“It’s a pretty similar tone. You know, Steven Soderbergh and I are incredibly close friends, and we would not have done this if we weren’t. I don’t think he would’ve wanted anyone to do it if we weren’t,” he said. “This is very much an extension and a continuation.”
The bad girl/sophisticated crime plot of the film is a good fit for Barbados favorite daughter. How her acting chops fall in with the A-list cast remains to be seen.
