The USA Women’s 4×100 relay team had a scare earlier today.
In the prelims this morning, Allyson Felix was going to pass the baton to English Garner and she ended up dropping the baton. It was a quick nightmare but Felix instructed Garner to pick the baton and finish the race.
They finished dead last but because USA finished, they were allowed to protest it hopes to get another chance to run.
After review, it was clear that Felix was bumped by a Brazilian runner and interrupted the baton exchange.

Luckily, they were able to get the appeal and were able to qualify in their second run.
