Every person in the world is allowed to make their own decisions, so if NBA players don’t want to take the risk of being attacked like Colin Kaepernick that is their choice.
What I don’t like is telling them what is appropriate or not.
It isn’t appropriate there is only one black owner in the NBA, kneeling for racial equality isn’t just appropriate it is needed. While this isn’t an outright threat from Adam Silver he is making his feelings about the issue clearly known.
“I don’t know if the players are organizing anything,” Silver said at the NBA’s board of governors meeting in Manhattan. “All I can say is what we have seen in multiple preseason games so far is our players standing for the national anthem. It would be my hope that they continue to stand for the national anthem. I think that is the appropriate thing to do.”
Players locking arms and singing kumbaya is fine, but it doesn’t trigger a response or spark conversation, it is just good PR and politically correct.
