The Big Ten’s Preseason Player of the Year is more than just a basketball player, and Nigel Hayes put his activism on full display Saturday morning.
The Badgers star hooper, used the College GameDay platform provided by ESPN to carry a sign that said — “Broke College Athlete” — “Anything Help.”
Hayes had already taken to Twitter, to voice his concerns about how much the NCAA and the Big Ten bring in on a yearly basis.
Hayes has been vocal in the past — saying that NCAA student-athletes should be paid. Hayes also was the only unanimous selection for the Preseason All-Big Ten team.
